~It’s a journey

Hello and welcome to my online gallery…I am so happy we have made this connection.

I am truly adoring my journey in the Art realm and so grateful to be able to create and grow through my art practice. With every piece I engage intuitively in I imagine it having it’s own voice and being useful.

I am a self-taught Artist who stumbled upon the Art world spontaneously. In the beginning I was seduced by the warmth and uniqueness of Encaustic painting that uses wax. I love the honey like smell when working with this medium and at the time felt inspired by the challenge of its application and layered effects using heat.

Cold wax painting soon crept into my awareness and accepted some similar techniques but allowed for a more controlled approach. With cold wax and oil paint I am able to create abstract or more ornate pieces making it a “cool” addition to my studio.

It was during summer travels that I started working with watercolors. I was wanting to take my creative urges on the road and enchanted by the flora and fauna of new environments bursting with beauty. With few tools needed I was hooked and now I am also creating abstract pieces with this medium as well.

Creating art no matter the form has helped align me with my desire to enjoy life’s journey, live at a slower pace, and to keep growing. Forever inspired with a love to explore and knowing that it’s all for joy, I believe that through these creations you can truly know me.

Some of my other joys include…taking care of my home…I am Feng Shui fluent and enjoy keeping my space ever evolving with my intentions. My garden is a fair weathered friend in the Pacific Northwest where I live but none the less brings me great joy. Growing herbs, vegetables, flowers, various plants, and possibly an obsession with Hosta’s keeps me busy. Camping is also something I love to do as well as escaping to the sea…being in nature sooths my soul and I never return the same. Reading is a must for me and I love to make time for it…especially with a cup of tea. And last but most certainly not least is spending time with my family, some furry. If I had to pick just one joy it would be that.

Thank you for stopping by and being a part of this wonderful adventure, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to get any additional photos of my work.

In~ joy,

Sandi
